Earth Day
Earth Day, celebrated April 22, was founded in 1970 by San José State alumnus and former U.S. senator Gaylord Nelson. From striving to become zero-waste campuses, to researching green power generation, to bringing STEM-focused outreach programs to local communities, the California State University continues the tradition of sustainability.
